JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for JEE Advanced 2025, candidates must meet the following specific criteria:
1. Performance in JEE Main 2025
Only the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main 2025 (Paper 1) will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025, inclusive of all reservation categories.
The category-wise allocation of the top 2.5 lakh candidates includes:
Open + Open-PwD: 1,01,250 candidates
GEN-EWS + GEN-EWS-PwD: 25,000 candidates
OBC-NCL + OBC-NCL-PwD: 67,500 candidates
SC + SC-PwD: 37,500 candidates
ST + ST-PwD: 18,750 candidates

2. Age Limit
Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000. A five-year relaxation is granted to SC, ST, and PwD categories, allowing candidates born on or after October 1, 1995, to be eligible.
3. Number of Attempts
Each candidate is permitted three consecutive attempts for JEE Advanced, a notable increase from the previous limit of two.
4. Appearance in Class 12
Candidates must have appeared for their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required subjects.
Candidates who first appeared in Class 12 before 2022 are ineligible. However, if a board declared results for the academic year 2021-22 after September 21, 2022, those candidates are eligible provided they meet other criteria.

5. Admission to IITs Previously
Candidates who have previously accepted or joined any IIT under JoSAA Business Rules or had their admission cancelled are ineligible for JEE Advanced 2025.
However, candidates enrolled in an IIT preparatory course for the first time in 2024 or those who were allocated an IIT seat but did not report or withdrew before the final round are eligible.
