Rohit Sharma, Ashwin OUT; KL Rahul IN, Bumrah Captain! India's Likely XI For 1st Test vs Australia

India was given a reality check by New Zealand thrashing out the Rohit Sharma-led side 0-3 in one of the most stunning series wins. India will be disappointed with their performance, they can't let their shoulders down as they have a brutal series lined up against Australia. India has dominated Australia in the last decade, having won the last four series, including two in Australia. They have a rare opportunity to complete a hat-trick of series wins Down Under, but it won't be easy by any means.

India has a lot of worries heading into the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The batting looks vulnerable while the bowling is too reliant on Jasprit Bumrah. India would have to play out of their skin to pull off a series win. A good start will be key to India's success on the Australia tour which gets underway on November 22 in Perth.

India's Likely XI For 1st Test Against Australia

India are likely to miss captain Rohit Sharma for the series opener. Rohit is set to pull out of the Test due to personal reasons. India has added Abhimanyu Easwaran to the squad and he should replace the Indian captain in the XI. Easwaran will open the innings with flamboyant Yashasvi Jaiswal. The southpaw has been magnificent for India so far in the cricket team would hope he continues his form in Australia. Shubman Gill will bat at No. 3. The batter was one of the top performers for India on the last tour, scoring 259 runs at an average of 51, and would look to emulate his performance.
